Olympic medalist’s bicycle stolen in Manchester

PanARMENIAN.Net - A bicycle belonging to an Olympic gold medalist has been stolen during a burglary in Manchester, police have said, according to BBC.

The Pinarello Paris bicycle is used for training by Philip Hindes, who won his medal during the men's team sprint with Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny at the 2012 London Olympics.

Police said thieves broke into the house in the West Didsbury area between August 23 and 26. The house was unoccupied at the time.

A blue Volkswagen Golf, which was also stolen, was later found burnt out on Princess Parkway.

Police said Mr Hindes's gold medal was not stolen during the burglary. Det Con Rob Southern said: "The reason we have publicized this theft is so that we can catch the people responsible and return the bike to its rightful owner. I would urge anyone who is offered the chance to buy such a bike to call police immediately."

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
