Levon Aronian departs for London![]() March 11, 2013 - 14:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian completed the final trainings ahead of London-hosted Chess Candidates Tournament. He has already departed for the British capital, armchess.am reported. The GM earlier voiced hope for excellent performance and victory in the tournament. Chess Candidates Tournament will run from March 14-April 1, with Aronian to face off against Norway’s Magnus Carlsen in the first round. Partner news Norway will host Chess World Cup 2013 on August 10 - September 4, 2013, with 4 Armenian players to participate in. Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian is currently 3rd with 4 points, Bulgaria’s Veselin Topalov is 7th with 3 points. European Individual Chess Championship ended in Polish town of Legnica, with 24 chess players winning World Cup qualifications. Gor Minasyan won silver medal, Andranik Karapetyan and Izabella Yalyan both won bronze at Junior World Championships in Lima. Partner news |
