PanARMENIAN.Net - Gor Minasyan (+105 kg) won silver medal, Andranik Karapetyan (77 kg) and Izabella Yalyan both won bronze at Junior World Championships in Lima.

In conversation with PanARMENIAN.Net coach of the team Melik Ghukasyan said the athletes’ performance exceeded his expectations.

“Armenian wrestlers trained hard and managed to fulfill the tasks set. Izabella is a skilled wrestler and will advance her positions in the future,” the coach said, hailing Karapetyan’s and Minasyan’s participation in the championships.

The coach noted that the team will start trainings for the European championships in July, due in Tallinn in September.

“The team will conduct 3 practice sessions in Tsaghkadzor, Abovyan and Yerevan before Tallinn championships. 15 wresters will participate in the team practice sessions, with only 8 of them to depart for Europe. I hope they will win medals,” the coach said.
