40 Armenians to participate in 27th Summer UniversiadeJune 14, 2013 - 16:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On July 16-17, Kazan will host 27th Summer Universiade, vice president of student sports federation said. In conversation with PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, Razmik Stepanyan said about 40 Armenian athletes will participate in 10 sports events, with swimming, chess, Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, judo, sambo wrestling, boxing, athletics and weightlifting among them. “Government allocated AMD 23 mln for the training program, with the international federation to cover the wrestlers’ expenses. 6 wrestlers are planned to participate,” Stepanyan said, adding that the Armenian delegation will include chess players, judokas, weightlifters, boxers and wrestlers “The athletes will depart for Kazan on July 4, with wrestlers to join them on July 11,” he said. Stepanyan will participate in Summer Universiade internatioanl federation assembly, due on July 3.
