Abraham threatens to retire over money disagreement

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former champion Arthur Abraham (36-4, 28KOs) is threatening not to fight on August 24 against Willbeforce Shihepo in Scherwin, Germany.

According to BoxingScene.com, Abraham is unhappy with the purse being offered by his promoter, Sauerland Event, and the two-division beltholder wants more money.

"If Sauerland Event does not reach an agreement with my lawyer, I will not box....neither on August 24th or later on. I do not need to continue my boxing career, and I can finish it right now. Athletes should be treated fairly," Abraham stated.

Abraham was stopped on four rounds by Robert Stieglitz in March.
