U.S. Doesn't Exclude Resumption of Hostilities in Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Steven Mann's ideas are clear, namely, there will be no elections in Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2006. The situation opens opportunities for the sides to resolve difficult issues", U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Reno Harnish told journalists. OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair Steven Mann said in case of non-solution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in 2006, Armenia and Azerbaijan face tragedy. Making clear these thoughts, the U.S. Ambassador noted, in case no result is achieved in the conflict settlement, there are some alternatives for the decision, one of which is the war. However, Harnish noted, the war will open the way for tragedies in the Caucasus. "I said many a time what tragedies may arise. One should keep in mind under what hard conditions the internally displaced people live. Therefore, we urge politicians from the both sides to find the way out of the situation", the U.S. Ambassador noted.
