Tottenham joins Arsenal, Juventus in hunt for Henrikh Mkhitaryan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, captain of the Armenian national team Henrikh Mkhitaryan has shelved talks over a new contract with Dortmund amid speculation he could quit this summer, the Daily Star reports.

That has put clubs across Europe on red alert - with Arsenal and Juventus among those who have been watching him.

And reports linking Chelsea with Mkhitaryan are understood to be wide of the mark.

But Spurs are now weighing up a bid as they seek to strengthen for a Champions League push next season, the Daily Star says.

Mkhitaryan, who is out of contract next summer, scored 23 goals and had 32 assists in all competitions last season for Dortmund.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino got a close-up look at the 27-year-old in the Europa League in March.

According to the Daily Star, Mkhitaryan was excellent in both legs as Dortmund beat Spurs 5-1 on aggregate in the last 16, and Pochettino has not forgotten.

The Tottenham boss is in the market for a No.10, and had his sights set on Palermo ace Franco Vazquez. But Mkhitaryan would shoot to the top of his wishlist if he does become available this summer.
