Aronian ties 2016 Sinquefield Cup round 1

PanARMENIAN.Net - The 2016 Sinquefield Cup chess tournament launched in Saint Louis.

In the 1st round, the defending champion, Levon Aronian of Armenia played against China’s Ding Liren, ending the round in a tie.

The remanding players showed the following results:

Wesley So - Hikaru Nakamura 1-0; Veselin Topalov - Peter Svidler 1-0; Anish Giri -Maxime Vachier - Lagrave and Viswanathan Anand - Fabiano Caruana pairs ended their games in a tie.

The Armenian grandsmaster will face off against Peter Svidler in round 2.
