Cristiano Ronaldo named 2016 Best Player at Globe Soccer Awards

PanARMENIAN.Net - Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has been named 2016 Best Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards, Tribal Football says.

Real president Florentino Pérez was on hand to collect the accolade on behalf of the Portuguese striker, who spoke via a live link from Real Madrid City:

"It's quite possibly been the best year of my career, both individually and collectively. I lifted the Champions League with Real Madrid, Portugal's first European Championship title, I also won the Ballon d'Or and the Club World Cup, what more can you ask for?

"There were people who had doubts about me, Real Madrid and Portugal, but ultimately we all emerged victorious. It's been incredible and I want to thank all of my teammates. It'll be tough to repeat the feat, but every year represents a new challenge for me and I always try to give my all."
