Mkhitaryan plays alongside Arsenal U23s on path to regaining fitness

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan got a taste of match action alongside Under-23s for the first time in six weeks - only to see the clash called off due to extreme fog.

The £200,000-a-week former Manchester United star is regaining his fitness after picking up a foot injury against Spurs on December 19.

He was pictured taking part in training last week but got some real game time tonight for Freddie Ljungberg's Under-23s.

Mkhitaryan was included in the starting XI for the Premier League 2 clash against West Ham at Borehamwood.

Videos posted to social media showed him being the slowest in a shuttle run warm-down after the game had been abandoned.

And another showed him firing over in shooting practice.

However, the fog was so bad that the fixture was called off before the players could come out again for the second half.
