Armenian serviceman wounded in clashes with Azerbaijan dies

PanARMENIAN.Net - An Armenian soldier wounded during the latest escalation on the border with Azerbaijan has died, the Defense Ministry said Thursday, July 23.

Private Artur Muradyan received a serious head injury on July 14 and was in a critical condition in the past 10 days.

Despite the efforts of the medical personnel of the military hospital where Muradyan was receiving treatment, his life could not be saved.

The situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan escalated on July 12, with Azerbaijan having launched several unsuccessful infiltration attempts throughout the next week. The Azerbaijani military also used artillery and combat drones to target civilian homes in several border settlements in Armenia. Five servicemen of the Armenian army were killed, while Azerbaijan reported 12 deaths.
