CSTO to create air defense regional systemsMarch 2, 2009 - 14:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Collective Security Treaty Organization considers installation of several types of regional integration military systems, the CSTO Secretary General said. "Several military groups are functioning within the CSTO, namely Russian-Belarusian, Russian-Armenian and the Central Asian groups. We are planning to install regional communication and management systems to facilitate their functioning," Nikolai Bordyuzha told a news conference in Yerevan. He also informed that Russia and Belarus have recently signed an agreement on a joint air defense system installation. "Currently, talks are held with the Central Asian countries," he said. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
