Armenia: Gold mine worker injured in Azerbaijan's shooting

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire on the Sotk gold mine in Armenia's eastern Gegharkunik Province, injuring a worker on Saturday, May 7.

The shooting began on the evening of May 6, according to GeoPromining, the company holding the right to exploit the mine. A representative of the company, Ruzanna Grigoryan revealed that the man was injured from the side of his left hand towards the heart, but added that the bullet hasn't damaged the internal organs.

The injured civilian has been hospitalized, his condition is stable. The rest of the miners have been evacuated, while the work has been temporarily suspended.
