Azerbaijan’s status for Yerevan shooting event still undecided

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan has not officially confirmed whether it will participate in the European Shooting Championship set to take place in Yerevan in late February, according to Armenia’s Shooting Federation.

The Armenian Shooting Federation has addressed media reports about Azerbaijan potentially skipping the championship in Yerevan, stating that no official stance has been communicated so far.

“Information is circulating in the media suggesting that the Azerbaijani team will not take part in the European Shooting Championship to be held in Yerevan from February 27 to March 5. We inform you that, as of now, Azerbaijan has not submitted any official position regarding its participation or non-participation in the championship.

We kindly ask everyone to rely solely on the official information published by the Armenian Shooting Federation,” the statement read.

Previously, Irada Ashumova, head coach of Azerbaijan’s national shooting team, stated that Azerbaijani athletes would not participate in the championship hosted in Yerevan.
