Yerevan to host Kyokushin Karate World Cup![]() April 14, 2026 - 17:06 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan will host a major international sporting event, welcoming athletes from various countries. On April 25, the Kyokushin Karate World Cup will take place at the Gazprom Armenia Sports Complex in Yerevan, with around 500 athletes from 30 countries participating. At the invitation of the President of the Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia, shihan Andranik Hakobyan, the President of the International Kyokushin Karate Federation, shihan David Pickthall, the Secretary General of the Kyokushin World Union, shihan Alexander Pichkunov, and other guests will arrive in Yerevan, Factor.am reports. The competitions will be held across different age groups. Among the participants will also be the Russian Kyokushin Karate national team, which will take part in an international tournament for the first time after a long break. The Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia has previously hosted several international tournaments in Yerevan, including three European championships. Armenia’s Narek Manasyan (92kg) won Armenia’s second silver medal at the European Boxing Championships 2024 on April 28. Armenian gymnast, Olympic bronze medalist Artur Davtyan has reached the finals of the World Cup. Gor Manvelyan has denied reports alleging that he has expressed a desire to one day play for the French national team.
