Armenian wrestlers win every opening-day bout in Baku

PanARMENIAN.Net - Wrestlers representing Armenia in Baku recorded only victories on the opening day of competition at the U17 World Championships, Panorama.am reports.

In the 80 kg category, Vahe Hoveyan defeated Madyar 5-1 in the round of 16 to advance to the quarterfinals. Earlier, he also defeated Buglishvili of Georgia, according to the Wrestling Federation of Armenia.

Khachik Khachatryan, competing in the 110 kg category, also made a successful start, defeating the Latvian representative 3-0.

In the 65 kg category, Vazgen Mnatsakanyan defeated the representative of Kyrgyzstan 5-2 in the round of 16 to secure a place among the final eight.

Ararat Avetisyan, competing in the 48 kg category, staged a successful comeback in his opening bout to claim victory.

Avetisyan and Mnatsakanyan continued their strong performances and secured places in the semifinals.
