Liturgy in Holy Cross Church on Akhtamar Island to be postponed?

PanARMENIAN.Net - The liturgy in Holy Cross Church on Akhtamar Island can be postponed for an indefinite term with respect to a terrorist threat. The Turkish intelligence services received information on a provocation being prepared by an Azerbaijani-Turkish organization - the Union on Struggle against Baseless Claims of Armenians, Yerkramas paper reported.

The Turkish intelligence services are especially concerned over the fact that representatives of police and army, who are in sympathy with Turkish nationalists protesting against the liturgy in the Armenian church, could be involved in the provocation organization

The Editor-in-Chief of Zhamanak Istanbul-based Armenian-language paper Ara Gochunian told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that this information does not correspond to the reality. “The liturgy will take place on the named date,” he said.
