New cold storage complex opens at Zvartnots airport May 25, 2011 - 14:38 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On May 25, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited Zvartnots airport to familiarize himself with the process of a new terminal construction. President Sargyan and Armenian Argentine entrepreneur Eduardo Eurnekian discussed modernization program of the airport, the annual capacity of which may total 3.5mln passengers. 78% of constructions works are completed, while the new terminal is scheduled to be opened in fall of 2011. Mr. Sargsyan also participated in the official opening ceremony of a cold storage complex constructed near the cargo terminal with usage of modern technologies and best international experience as part of free trade zone creation. Armenia International Airports CJSC invested around $6mln to construct the cold storage complex, which will allow Armenian farmers to transport, store and pack their products in compliance with international standards. The complex will allow exporting agricultural products to all the countries, with which Armenia has air communication.
