NATO unready to discuss deployment of peacekeepers in Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - NATO does not aim to replace OSCE Minsk Group, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General stated.

As Jamie Shea stressed during Yerevan-Brussels TV spacebridge, the alliance is not ready to discuss the possibility of deployment of peacekeepers in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone, with no suggestion by conflicting sides advanced.

According to Mr. Shea, to conduct peacekeeping operations in a region, agreement of NATO member states and a relevant mandate are essential.
