Renewable energy development potential discussed in ArmeniaJune 25, 2011 - 12:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Representatives of the Armenian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Commission on Regulation of Public Services, as well as parties concerned started discussion of a manual program on development of renewable energy in the Armenian health resort town of Aghveran (Kotayk province). The program was developed with support of Danish Energy Management. “The goal of the program is to clear up the potential of renewable energy development in Armenia both from the technical viewpoint and its feasibility,” the Director of Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund, Tamara Babayan said. The program will enable putting clear-cut tasks and mechanisms of their fulfilling in a short-term perspective up to 2013, in a mid-term till 2015 and in a long-term till 2020, which is an object of interest for investors, commercial banks, international organizations as well as state organizations which may take advantage of the calculations presented in the manual program when taking decisions according to Babayan. Discussions are organized by the Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund, Expo Media center with the support of the RA Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Discussions are held within the framework of the World Bank Program on renewable energy.
