Russian expert expects specific results from 2012 Karabakh talks

PanARMENIAN.Net - Kazan-hosted trilateral presidential meeting on Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement must not be viewed as a final stage in the process, but rather as one of the many, Vestnik Kavkaza information analytical agency editor-in-chief stated.

As Alexei Vlasov told a news conference in Baku, Russia won't withdraw its mediation in Karabakh conflict settlement, being interested in maintenance of peace in South Caucasus.

“Azerbaijan and Armenia can't agree on sequence of Madrid principles' fulfilment, yet I believe that in 2012, the talks will yield specific results,” Valsov said.

The June 24 meeting between the Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia, which was eyed as an opportunity to fix considerable progress on the way to the conflict resolution, ended in a statement saying that the heads of state “noted the reaching of mutual understanding on a number of questions, whose resolution helps create conditions to approve the basic principles."
