Sociologist: Prosperous Armenia would benefit from snap electionsJuly 6, 2011 - 13:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - In case of snap elections, the Prosperous Armenia coalition party will be the winner, head of Sociometer sociological center Aharon Adibekyan said. According to poll carried out in various provinces of Armenia, most of 1650 respondents involved replied to the questions “Who would you vote for, if acting President Serzh Sargsyan is not participating in elections?” and “Who would you like to see as a Prime Minister except Tigran Sargsyan?” that they would like to see the leader of Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan as a President and a Prime Minister of the country. Besides, the poll shows that ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrossian is second as a potential President, and sixth as potential Prime Minister. According to the results, former President Robert Kocharian is fourth in case of participation in presidential elections, and second as a potential Prime Minister. As regards ANC demand for snap elections, Adibekyan said that this is a classic example of sophistry. “If the authorities agree to hold pre-term elections they would thus acknowledge inefficiency of their governance, and in case of refusal, their non-legitimacy,” Adibekyan told a press conference in Yerevan.
