Iran's young weightlifters win World Junior Championships

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran's young weightlifters clinched the title in the 37th World Junior Weightlifting Championships in Penang, Malaysia.

Iranian athletes have won two more medals on the last day of the competitions in Malaysia to lead Iran to the crown of the games for the first time.

Iranian Bahador Molaei's gold and Alireza Kazeminejad's silver medals in the +105 category contributed to Iran's medal bonanza by taking the country's point tally to an unassailable 577.

China came second with 538 points and Russia stood third with 517 points, Fars News Agency reported.

The 37th Men's and 17th Women's World Junior Weightlifting Championships have brought more than 300 weightlifters from 76 countries together at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) in northwestern Malaysia.
