Armenian-born boxer Vahagn Sahakyan knocks out 4th challenger

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian-born boxer Vahagn Sahakyan, who currently lives and trains in Germany, arrived in Yerevan after his recent fight to see Vic Darchinyan-Evans Mbamba clash. After August 27 combat, the 22-year old cruiserweight moved up to 4 KOs in the same number of fights with an easy first-round blowout of Hungarian Victor Szalai. Sahakyan put Szalai down twice before the contest was waved off at 1;31 of the opening stanza.

“My challenger was an experienced boxer, having previously fought 55 matches. Still, hard training allowed me to send him to the floor 1 min 33 sec into the match,” the boxer told a news conference in Yerevan.

Though in the last 4 matches, the Armenian-born boxer sent his rivals for a KO, he confessed to be setting greater store by an impressive combat and victory, rather than a KO.

According to the boxer’s manager, Zhirayr Graf, starting December 11, Vahagn will be shifting from 4-round to 6-round matches. “Vahagn is listed among 200 top boxers worldwide and is ranked 7th in his weight class in Germany,” Graf said.
