IOC panel praises Russia’s efforts in preparation of 2014 Winter Olympics

PanARMENIAN.Net - The International Olympic Committee says it is impressed with Russia’s progress in preparations for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.

The IOC’s coordination commission on Wednesday, September 14 completed a three-day visit to the Black Sea resort, its sixth trip to Sochi since the games were awarded to Russia in 2007.

The commission says in a statement that, with 55,000 workers on the ground, all of the Olympic venues are now under construction.

The IOC underlined the need for Sochi organizers to continue to focus on the timely delivery of Olympic sites, saying “there is no time to lose.”
