Armenia suffers first defeat at World Youth Chess U-16 Olympiad

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia suffered first defeat by Russia in round 5 of the World Youth Chess U-16 Olympiad in Izmit, Turkey.

Hovhannes Gabuzyan scored a victory over Vladimir Fedoseev. Karen Grigoryan tied the game against Daniil Dubov while Tigran Harutyunyan and Zohrak Apresyan were defeated by Yuri Yeliseev and Konstantin Nikologorsky to finish the round 2,5:1,5.

Despite the defeat, the Armenian chess players dominate the tournament with 16 points. In round 6, they will face Azerbaijanis, who are currently 4th.
