Armenia has major potential to preserve economic stability - Russian MPOctober 30, 2011 - 16:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The President and the government of Armenia are determined to preserve stability in the country by solving current economy problems, according to a member of State Duma and United Russia party. “Armenian economy has significant potential for preservation of stability,” Igor Chernyshenko told a news conference organized on the sidelines of Republican Party of Armenia (RPA)-hosted economy conference in Yerevan. In this context, the MP noted Russia's contribution to Armenian economy, with USD 3 bln worth investments and over 1100 Russian capital-backed companies operating in RA. As Chernyshenko noted, “to us, Armenia is not only a strategic partner, but a home country, to which we're connected by political, economic, cultural and most importantly, blood ties, with Armenian Diaspora playing an important role in many aspects of the Russia's life.” The State Duma member further spoke of the post-crisis stage both countries are undergoing with the issue of economy effectiveness increase, GDP growth on priority agenda.
