Aronian ties game v Carlsen at Tal Memorial

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster, 3rd in world rankings, Levon Aronian tied the first round game against Norway’s Magnus Carlsen at Tal Memorial going on in Moscow, Russia.

Hikaru Nakamura (U.S.) played in a draw with Boris Gelfand (Israel); Viswanathan Anand (India) tied the match against Sergei Karjakin (Ukraine); Vasili Ivanchuk defeated Peter Svidler (Russia) while Ian Nepomniatchi (Russia) scored a win over Vladimir Kramnik (Russia).

Aronian, who is currently 7th in the standings will face Kramnik in the next round.
