FFA: Turkey won’t host Armenia-Belarus friendly

PanARMENIAN.Net - February 29, 2012 was confirmed as Armenia-Belarus friendly date; however, Turkey won’t be hosting the game, contrary to earlier reports.

As the press service of the Football Federation of Armenia told PanARMENIAN.Net Armenia refused to play in Turkey, calling the venue unsuitable. Actual venue remains unannounced.

Armenia suffered a 3:1 defeat by Belarus in a friendly in Antalya, Turkey, on March 3, 2010. FIFA has ranked Armenia 46th while Belarus is placed 65th.

Armenia scored 17 points to come 3rd in EURO 2012 Group B; Belarus came 4th with 13 points in Group D.
