  One of PKK leaders arrested in TurkeyDecember 5, 2011 - 09:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - One of the leaders of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) was arrested in Istanbul, CNN Turk reported. Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said the name of the detainee, who possesses important information, is not made public for security reasons. Listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and European Union, the PKK took up arms in 1984 to create an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey. More than 40,000 people have been killed in clashes involving the PKK during the past over two decades.   Top stories Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot".
