Azeri diversion at contact line sowed discord in Azeri media

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azeri diversion organized on the night of June 19 at the line of contact with Artsakh armed forces has sown discord in Azeri media, information security exert Samvel Martirosyan stated.

“Part of media has circulated information about attack initiated by Armenia, another part stated Azerbaijan to be the attacker. Non-conformity of information confused the Azeri propaganda machine,” he told a news conference on June 23.

“Azeri propaganda aims at the quantity of misinformation rather than its quality,” Anahit Menemshyan, Information Security Professor at YSU Journalism Department stated, characterizing the latter as the reason behind blunders allowed by Azeri sources. “Initially, Azeri media spread rumors concerning the death of Azeri special services regiment soldier. Further, local media claimed Armenian side refuses to pass the body of the dead soldier to Azerbaijan.”

According to the experts, Armenian journalists demonstrated low activity in this extraordinary situation, failing to secure enough comments from international experts.
