Edward Nalbandian: meeting in Almaty possible but not scheduled yet

PanARMENIAN.Net - A meeting between Armenian, Azerbaijani and OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairing countries' Foreign Ministers meeting in Almaty is possible but not scheduled yet, Armenian top diplomat said.

“If the meeting takes place, the key issue will be whether Azerbaijan is willing to continue negotiations on the basis of the latest version of Madrid principles presented during the presidential meeting in Saint Petersburg,” Edward Nalbandian said during a joint news conference with his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski.

Asked whether Fizuli and Kelbajar can be discussed during the meeting, as it was reported by the Armenian side, Nalbandian said that Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister has already commented on the issue.

He also emphasized Azerbaijan’s attempts to introduce another one-sided resolution in UN General Assembly will have negative impact on the negotiation process.

“The countries which mediate a peaceful resolution between the sides hold the same opinion,” the Minister said.
