Shirak Torosyan: Javakhk problems remain unresolved

PanARMENIAN.Net - There was no progress in Armenian-Georgian relations during the current year, according to Armenian parliament member Shirak Torosyan.

“Although, the leadership in both states boast friendly and warm relations, it’s not so,” Torosyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

Dwelling on the problems the Armenians of Javakhk are facing he reminded that the lessons of Armenian language in schools have been considerably reduced and replaced by Georgian language lessons.

“The number of fired teachers of Armenian language and literature has also increased,” he said.

Torosyan emphasized that the Armenian authorities do not dare give an adequate response to Georgia because of dependence on the Georgian transit routes.
