ANC leader helped current President strengthen his position, expert says

PanARMENIAN.Net - By suggesting a political dialogue, the leader of Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrossian helped current President Serzh Sargsyan to strengthen his positions, according to a political expert.

As Yervand Bozoyan told a news conference in Yerevan, Serzh Sargsyan lost its legitimacy in people’s eyes following the elections and March 1, 2008 events. Further, a number of failures in domestic and foreign policy made him lose his authority as well, the expert believes. “ANC leader helped President Sargsyan to regain his authority and position in state governance system,” the expert said.

Political expert Suren Surenyants disagrees. According to him, Ter-Petrossian is self-sufficient enough to acts in his own interests rather than the interests of any other sides. He explained the dialogue by both parties’ inability to achieve their maximum goals.
