RA Ministry of Education started preparing for 2011 educational crisis from current year

PanARMENIAN.Net - We have started preparing for the 2011 educational crisis since the current year, Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan says. "Since we'll have practically no high school graduates in 2011, there are going to be problems in terms of maintaining certain university chairs," he told Tuesday a news conference.

"In 2012, higher educational institutions will have to admit maximum number of students in order to save means. We all will have to take joint measures to overcome the transition impact," Minister noted.

At that, he stressed the importance of establishing a stricter control over assessment procedures, calling on parents not to be misled by promises that their children can leave school ahead of time. "That's illegal and impossible," Mr. Ashotyan said, adding that the Ministry had managed to avert 3 such cases.
