Artsakh people voted for strong and prosperous future

PanARMENIAN.Net - President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan addressed the first session of the NKR 5th National Assembly.

“First of all I want to congratulate the newly elected deputies of the National Assembly and wish them every success in performing their responsible and important mission,” he said.

Mr. Sahakyan reminded that on May 23, the people of Artsakh once again displayed discipline and civil stand giving their votes for the sake of strong and prosperous future of Artsakh.

The NKR President went on saying: “People gave their vote of confidence to you and you are obliged to justify it in every way possible. Among the pivotal directions of the parliamentary activity are the improvement of the republic’s legal field, deepening of cooperation with other branches of the authorities, strengthening of democratic principles, as well as Artsakh’s worthy representation before the civilized world and integration into the international community.

This work should be based first of all on the state interests of Artsakh, in compliance with the letter and spirit of the Constitution. Principle, active and constructive activity is required from all political forces represented in the National Assembly. Tolerant and sympathetic attitude towards each other will greatly contribute to successful and efficient activity.”

“I want to express gratitude to deputies of the previous convocation of the National Assembly for their work. A range of laws that regulate the life of our republic were adopted as a result of your lawmaking activities. The people of Artsakh has once again proved its ability to master its own fate, build free, independent and democratic country and that this path irreversible for our republic,” Mr. Sahakyan concluded.
