Cilician Catholicos to participate in G8 interfaith summit of religious leaders

PanARMENIAN.Net - His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia, left for Canada to participate in a major session on Climate Change during the Interfaith Summit in Winnipeg. The interfaith gathering will run June 21-23 and then pass its recommendations on to the G20 meeting June 26 and 27 at Huntsville, Ontario. After the meeting, Catholicos Aram I will prolong his visit to Canada for a pastoral visit to the Dioceses in Montreal and Toronto, reported the press service of the Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia.

In Winnipeg Prelate of Tehran Archbishop Sebouh Sarkissian, Prelate of Canada Archbishop Khajak Hagopian and Director of Communications V. Rev. Krikor Chiftjian will accompany him. Prelate of New York Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan and Prelate of the Western Diocese of California Moushegh Mardirossian will also join him for the pastoral visit.
