Russian MP blames S-300 missile deal failure on IranSeptember 28, 2010 - 15:20 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the Russian State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee Konstantin Kosachev said that Russia’s refusal to supply S-300 missiles to Iran is a result of Iran’s wrong foreign policy. “Russia’s refusal to supply S-300 missiles to Iran is the choice of Iran, but not Russia,” said Kosachev. For his part, Russia’s permanent representative to NATO Dmitry Rogozin noted that the ban on supply of S-300 complexes, armors, combat aircrafts, helicopters and ships to Iran is reasoned exclusively by goals and tasks of Russia’s national security, RIA Novosti reported. The contract on S-300 complexes supply to Iran was signed in 2007, as per which Russia should have supplied five battalions of S-300 missile complex to Iran at the amount of around $800mln.
