Speaker of People's Assembly of Syria to visit ArmeniaNovember 24, 2010 - 11:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Speaker of the People's Assembly of Syria, Mahmoud al-Abrash has accepted Armenian National Assembly Chairman Hovik Abrahamyan’s invitation to visit Armenia. After a meeting between two speakers behind closed doors which focused on intensification of interparliamentary cooperation and collaboration within international organization as well as development of economic ties, the Armenian and Syrian parliamentarians referred to regional issues, including Armenian-Turkish normalization and Karabakh conflict settlement. Mahmoud al-Abrash and Hovik Abrahamyan signed a memorandum of understanding to cement friendly relations between Armenia and Syria, RA NA press office reported.
