However, as far as I’m informed, the Minister never mentioned Georgia’s interest in acting as a mediator in Karabakh conflict settlement,” Kalandadze noted. “Conflicts pose danger to regional stability, so the sooner they’re resolved, the better. This is what Minister Vashadze meant,” GHN cited Kalandadze as saying. In an interview to ANS Azerbaijani TV channel, Vashadze stressed Georgia’s interest in rapid resolution of the conflict, expressing readiness to act as mediator Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
