  Over 150 people killed in Egypt, thousands injured January 30, 2011 - 17:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - At least 150 people were killed and about 4,000 injured in continued anti-government protests in Egypt, Al-Jazeera TV channel reported on January 30. The TV channel earlier reported 100 deaths, with the largest death numbers registered in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, and also in Alexandria and Suez. Egyptian state TV reported early on Sunday that the Al Jazeera office in Cairo was being shut down and Al Jazeera reporters were losing their press credentials in Egypt. Anti-government protests started in Egypt on January 25, with crowds of tens of thousands demanding President Hosni Mubarak step down after three decades in power. British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel issued a joint statement on Saturday calling on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to avoid using violence against protesters and launch political reforms in the country, RIA Novosti reported.
