Rasim Agayev: Iran-Azerbaijan relations have long been in crisis

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran-Azerbaijan relations have long been in crisis, according to Azerbaijani political expert.

As Rasim Agayev noted, Iranians actively assisted Azerbaijan at the first stage of the country’s independence. “However, the relations had taken a turn for the worse because of increased western influence and drastic changes in Azerbaijan’s policy,” the expert believes.

As the Azerbaijani expert noted, times have passed when Iran-residing Turkic people saw their futures in unification with Azerbaijan. “Moreover, Iran goes on to ostracize and attack Azerbaijani Republic, forgetting about its domestic problems,” Aze.az quoted the expert as saying.
