Baku practices self-delusion believing youth was drawn into protest rallies

PanARMENIAN.Net - Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov commented on an attempt of a group of young people to hold illegal action on March 11.

According to APA, Usubov said that such attempts were undertaken previously. “Some people were instigating the preparations for illegal rallies. Our youth was unwilling drawn into this. But yesterday’s events showed that Azerbaijani youth, as an integral part of the people of Azerbaijan, is closely united around the country’s president and supporting his policy.”

On March 11, Azerbaijani Interior Ministry circulated a report in connection with the illegal action in Baku.

Starting from 12:00, supporters of the action organizers totaling 100 people in small groups openly violated public order and tranquility of the population and tried to gather near the '28 May' metro station, the press service of the Interior Ministry told Trend.

As a result of measures taken, these illegal activities have been stopped, 43 people were detained. Acts were compiled with regards to 20 persons the detainees and sent to the appropriate authorities for consideration in accordance with the laws. The remaining 23 detainees were released, after the testimony and an official warning about the inadmissibility of illegal actions. There were not attempts to conduct illegal actions in other cities and regions of the country.
