Lebanon to host event dated to Aintab defense 91st anniversary

PanARMENIAN.Net - Aintab village in Lebanon will host an event dated to the 91st anniversary of Aintab defense, when Armenians had to flee Turkey, settling in other countries, predominantly Lebanon, where they founded a settlement naming it Aintab.

Besides, Kevork Kandaharian #1 school will host a concert of Kohar choir in the memory of the choirmaster and chairperson of Parsegh Ganachian Music College executive board.

Kevork Kandaharian, born in Damascus, Syria, in 1925, completed his elementary education in Gertmenian School and Armenian Evangelical College. Moving back to Alepppo, Syria, he was enrolled in the “Gertasirats” and “Ousoumnasirats” schools. In 1939, he was accepted as a student in Antilias Seminary, where he also served as a teacher after graduating. He continued teaching in the seminar until the last years of his life. Starting in 1969, he continuously taught for 35 years at the “Hamazkayin Djemaran”. He also taught at Haigazian University and Hamazkayin Armeniology Institute.
