Aliyev won’t attend Istanbul-hosted conference to avoid meeting Sargsyan

PanARMENIAN.Net - As of now, Turkish President hasn’t invited his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev to attend the Istanbul-hosted UN conference, the confidential source in Baku told PanARMENIAN.Net

According to the source, the Azeri President will hardly attend the conference with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan present. “Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents don’t usually meet without the mediation of their Russian, U.S. or French counterparts,” the source noted.

On behalf of Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Armenian leader Serzh Sargsyan was invited to attend the UN conference due May 9-13 in Istanbul, Zaman reported earlier.
