Azeri soldiers will face court trial upon release from captivity

PanARMENIAN.Net -

Azerbaijani army sergeant Anar Hajiyev, recently released from Armenian captivity, was charged with high treason.

As Chief of Azerbaijani Committee against Torture Elchin Behbudov noted after meeting with Hajiyev at National Security Ministry’s pre-trial prison, the sergeant had no complaints as to his treatment or prison conditions. “Hajiyev believes himself guilty. He said he’s sorry about what he’s done. He’s been provided with the services of an attorney,” Behbudov said.

Azerbaijani army sergeant Anar Hajiyev was taken hostage by NKR armed forces on May 10, 2009. In March 2011 he was returned to Azerbaijan.
