Armenia ahead of Turkey according to WEF media freedom ranking

PanARMENIAN.Net - The World Economic Forum (WEF) has released the 10th edition (2010-2011) of its Global Information Technology Report, ranking 138 countries worldwide for media freedom.

Turkey was ranked 135th in WEF list with an overall index of 2,53. Iran, Libya and Zimbabwe ranked 136-138th were in the bottom of the list.

According to Aksam Turkish newspaper media freedom in Greece, Cyprus, Armenia was assessed much higher that in Turkey. Armenia was positioned 125th, leaving Russia behind.

Denmark with an overall index of 6,91 was named the leader, while U.S. was only ranked 38th.
