  Armenia ahead of Turkey according to WEF media freedom ranking April 16, 2011 - 14:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The World Economic Forum (WEF) has released the 10th edition (2010-2011) of its Global Information Technology Report, ranking 138 countries worldwide for media freedom. Turkey was ranked 135th in WEF list with an overall index of 2,53. Iran, Libya and Zimbabwe ranked 136-138th were in the bottom of the list. According to Aksam Turkish newspaper media freedom in Greece, Cyprus, Armenia was assessed much higher that in Turkey. Armenia was positioned 125th, leaving Russia behind. Denmark with an overall index of 6,91 was named the leader, while U.S. was only ranked 38th.   Top stories Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot".
