Istanbul hosts rally to commemorate Genocide victims

PanARMENIAN.Net - A rally in commemoration of Armenian Genocide victims launched in Istanbul. The rally organized by No to Racism and Nationalism organization is held simultaneously at Taksim square, by the editorial office of Agos Armenian-Turkish newspaper and Haidar Pasha train station from where on April 24, 250 representatives of Armenian intellectual elite were taken away and killed.

As a source from Istanbul told PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, police is guarding the demonstrators from possible attack of nationalists. The rally has been organised for the second year in a row, with no incidents reported last year. The rally participants are holding the photos of killed Armenian intellectual elite representatives: Zohrab, Daniel Varuzhan, Siamanto, Hrant Dink.
