West urges Aliyev to dismiss parliament

PanARMENIAN.Net - The West is increasing pressure on the Azeri President Ilham Aliyev demanding him to dismiss the parliament, Azadliq Azerbaijani newspaper said citing diplomatic sources.

According to the newspaper, a high-ranking western diplomat demanded fulfilment of certain demands during his meeting with President Aliyev.

Official Baku is required to carry out reforms in political field, launch a dialogue with the opposition as well as dismiss the current parliament and announce the date for new elections. Unless the requirements are fulfilled the West will support the opposition’s radical actions thus expediting the “revolution,” the newspaper said.
