/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Public and Information Center of the united opposition of Armenia has made public its own data on the constituency attendance at the referendum on constitutional reform held November 27. According to these 84.7% of electors boycotted the referendum, said Center coordinator, representative of Legacy opposition party Stepan Safaryan. According to the data the opposition has, total number of people, who voted for the passage of the draft of changes to the Constitution of Armenia, made 15.3%, instead of 64% as the CEC holds. Safaryan informed journalists that along with international observation missions the Center has arranged a report on the referendum returns. The document underscores that the referendum was held with violations and thus it cannot be considered legal.

It should be reminded that according to official data over 1.4 million electors or 93.3% of the total number of participants of the vote were for passing the constitutional amendments. According to the CEC, 82159 constituents or 5.4% of the vote participants were against making amendments to the Constitution. For the amendments to be passed a minimum of 800 thousand votes is necessary. The opposition boycotted the process, recalling its representatives from district election commissions. The observation mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) stated that in spite of the shortcomings, the referendum on the whole reflected the will of the people of Armenia, reported IA Regnum.
